Helping you find your voice with the Gift of Hands

Before the headset
I am a wife and mom to three amazing children! Our family loves spending time outdoors—camping, hiking, hunting, and anything that helps us disconnect, reset, and grow together. We are also passionate about serving others and answering the call to be His hands and feet in the world, one act of service at a time.

Behind the headset
I began my career as a 9-1-1 dispatcher in 2006, building a strong foundation over 12 years before taking a leap of faith and joining a new agency. For the past nine years, I have continued to thrive in my current role, supported by the unwavering encouragement of my managers and supervisors.
Throughout my career, I have served as an acting supervisor, trained new dispatchers, and become the lead fire training officer. I also serve as the lead instructor for our agency’s academy course, How to Interact with Deaf Drivers, and am proud to be the first dispatcher in Texas to become an ASL Communicator.

Beyond the headset
My passion in public speaking and educating began with teaching first responders on effective communication with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, individuals with speech and communication barriers, and others who may face unique challenges during emergency situations. Through practical instruction, ASL expertise, and real-world experience, I work to equip dispatchers, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and other first responders and public service employees with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to communicate more effectively and serve their communities.
My work also extends beyond the emergency response itself. I am passionate about helping dispatchers recognize the impact of the profession on their personal lives, including the importance of not “dispatching” their children at home and learning how to separate the dispatcher mindset from the parenting role. I also advocate for dispatchers to recognize their own value, use their voices, and advocate for themselves beyond the headset.
Through education, collaboration, and advocacy, my goal is to build stronger bridges between first responders and the communities they serve while also empowering those behind the headset. I believe meaningful change begins with understanding, intentional communication, and the willingness to see the person—not just the situation—on the other side of the call.
